THE AMAZING MAGICIAN
FOR YOUR EVENT
When I was a child I never had a magic set…my brother did! Although I did queue up to get a book signed by Paul Daniels, does that count? I grew up in Reading, Berkshire and set off to study Engineering at the University of Birmingham (actually it was Materials Science & Engineering). Between my studies I had some spare time, learnt to juggle, stole my brothers old magic set and started to hang out with some creative performer type people! Mainly because it was a pretty cool way to get into University events and meet people…err…girls.
By the time I graduated we had either crashed or worked at every decent event on campus. Additionally, I was sloping off two days every week to Pontins and Butlins to perform a cabaret show. At the weekends I was also performing street shows in Cannon Hill Park and running a circus skills course at the University sports centre! So when my tutor asked me if I had any work lined up I had to break the news to him gently that I appreciated all his efforts and qualifications (MPhil and Best Paper at AFS95, etc, etc) but the foundry business wasn’t for me.
In the pre-internet era it was all about posting off a resume and photos and hoping they hit the right desk at the right time. Thanks to the University photocopier I hit quite a few desks! In my first few years I was already performing for many top entertainment event companies, Penguins, William Barthomelew, Leap Frog, Nic Picot just to mention a few. I was part of the team of street entertainers at Chessington World of Adventures (the U.K.s biggest theme park entertainment team), Cadburies World and Alton Towers/Merlin events. I established myself as a reliable and reputable entertainer and since that time have been part of many other entertainment teams, most memorably being The Dubai Shopping Festival and also a select group of magicians performing for the Manchester United Corporate Hospitality team. Since setting up business in 1996 I have performed at well over 2000 events, several TV productions, a TV commercial plus too many other exciting projects to list.
My career has and continues to take me to amazing places, on some wonderful adventures and some incredible events. I am a perfectionist and am always seeking to improve upon what I do, making sure that I am always engaging, entertaining, contemporary and I do fits perfectly with every event.
Above all I am an “Entertainer” whatever skill or trick I am performing my role is to bring laughter fun and entertainment to your event, creating fun memories and experiences that will last forever.
Outside of work, I have settled in an area just outside Solihull, Birmingham. I have a wife and 3 children and to keep me entertained. Also a Jack Russell and a cat called Ginger (it’s black and white!)
So today, with so many magicians out there, why do clients continue to choose me?
I have an established reputation for being smart, reliable and consistently loyal to all that I have worked for during the past 20 years. My clients know that I have the skills to deal with almost any situation, scenario or event. On top of this they know they can trust that the service I provide will fit in perfectly with their own and their client’s exclusive reputations.
It’s not all about the CEO or that VIP guest, whoever I am entertaining, Bride & Groom, celebrity or stranger, to me it’s just as important that everyone is able to join in the fun and be amazed.
